Mike Fox is the playwright and producer of Telemonster. Telemonster is the first play Mike has ever written and the first play he will be producing this summer at the DC Arts Center. He is a graduate from Clarion University of PA. in Clarion, PA. Mike not only learned about theatrical arts while earning his Speech, Communication & Theatre BA but he also learned about how radio used to be fun since he was able to embrace the freedom of college radio. He did a morning show on 91.7 WCUC FM for a year with his friend John Crawford and later a chronological rock history show called 'The Path' with the same co-host. During his junior year in 2001, Mike went off to Washington DC for a summer internship at XM Satellite Radio, which motivated him to later move to the area. Things didn't work as planned but Mike did have enjoy having bit parts in two shows (The Ritz and George Washington Slept Here) at the Little Theatre of Alexandria. He also did a lot of stand up comedy open mikes, which he stopped doing because he finds the art of stand up to be very limiting. Mike had the opportunity to team up with Abe Johnson and Blake Grobe in a sketch comedy show called Comedy 6. In 2005, the trio cleaned house at least once a month at the DC Arts Center. Not only did Mike act as several characters but he assisted in the writing process as well. Speaking of writing, in 2006, Mike Fox started up a newsletter called Community Arts, which promotes artists of the Washington DC Area. In February of 2007, Mike played Dirk Winston in the Foundry Players production of 'Mary, Mary' by Jean Kerr. In April of 2007, Mike was offered his first dramatic role as Bert Cates in the Rockville Little Theatre production of 'Inherit the Wind' by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee. After that run ended, Mike Fox was ready to get back into comedy but this time, as a producer of his own play. The Capital Fringe Festival was a great way of getting Telemonster off the ground. Hopefully, 2008 The Capital Fringe Festival will welcome a satisfied audience when they see the 'The Object of My Obsession ', which is a follow up to Telemonster. As for Telemonster, there are hopes to make a movie version and bring it back on stage several more times. Contact Mike Fox if you want to put this play on at your theatre.
