"A romantic comedy about prank calls"
The year is 1991. Bob Gaines and Syd Johnson run a prank calling business called Telemonster. Telemonster is disguised as a telemarketing and market research firm. One day a man named Jason Irving calls Telemonster asking Bob if he could prank call his ex-girlfriend.
Jason wants Bob to act as a travel agent telling her she just won a trip to Bermuda. Bob calls Sherri Bryant, the ex-girlfriend, but her flirtatious nature weakens him to the point that he takes her up on the offer to meet her for coffee to discuss the trip.
When Bob meets up with Sherri, their meeting, which was supposed to be professional, turns into a date.
Bob is now in a real pickle realizing he agreed to do this job for Jason. Syd warns Bob about the dangers of this romance but Bob refuses to listen. As
Bob goes off on another date with Sherri, Rachel Bryant, a former lover, reaches Syd on the phone. Rachel had a one night stand with Bob years ago, which almost tarnished Bob and Syd's friendship. Little does Syd know that Rachel was sent from Jason to come between
Bob and Syd as revenge on Bob for hooking up with Jason. Jason was suspicious because of Bob accidentally revealing over the phone that he handed her the brochures and vacation forms in person. What if Sherri were to find out as well? Will true love triumph?
Is Rachel really using Sydney or did she agree to do the job as an excuse to see old friends? Find out at this summer's capital fringe festival. TELEMONSTER
